This workshop is for prospective co-operative and social enterprise development workers. It is designed to help them get a grip on what is often a poorly defined and understood job.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the workshop, the students should be able to:

• Demonstrate understanding of the role set called “development work”
• Map the organisation they work in
• Demonstrate understanding of their role within it
• Demonstrate understanding of how to manipulate the employing organisation to support their role

Workshop Duration

This would normally be a half day, preceding another workshop, such as Working With Groups, Project Development or Partnership Working.

Please note that it may not be possible to achieve all the learning objectives in shorter versions of workshops.
